Epilogue

“As for me, I heard but could not understand; so I said, “My lord, what will be the outcome of these events?” And he said, “Go your way, Daniel, for these words are concealed and sealed up until the end time. “Many will be purged, purified and refined; but the wicked will act wickedly, and none of the wicked will understand, but those who have insight will understand.” (Da 12:8-10 NAS)

The lessons of history can easily be lost in one generation. History confirms that this is true and we are witnessing it happening in our generation. Our society here in North America is in the process of self-destructing. As I write this, the “Rule of Law” is being trumped by hate and discontent. Those who wish to overthrow our government and its Godly foundation have clearly revealed their intentions. The various factions of evil have allied themselves in an attempt to overrule the checks and balances that once guarded our rights and freedoms. If they succeed, the whole world will suffer. These people are willing to turn over control of our nation to be ruled by those who follow the dictates of the evil one. Whether they understand what they are doing or not becomes irrelevant if the world falls under control of the council of the evil one.

God’s children are the only thing standing in the gap. The intercession of God’s people is what is standing between God and the destruction of this world. What will be the end of our present struggle?  Honestly, I don’t know. The world has survived many crises in the past and God is able to avert this one too. But I do know that there is coming a time when God will decide to clean everything up. For those who have chosen to follow Christ, that will be the day of our redemption. But for most people it will be a day of judgment.

“And they overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of their testimony, and they did not love their life even to death.” (Re 12:11 NAS)

If we do not cede the high ground we will overcome. We stand on this ground because Christ died for us.  We stand as witnesses of the grace and power of God’s love. Our stance and testimony is a plea for those around us to trust God and the power of His Word. Our love compels us to plead with them so that they can avoid the judgment of God that will condemn all evil, wiping it from the face of the earth. We cannot cede one inch of this high moral ground that reconciles us to God and allows us to live in harmony with Him for all of eternity. Our fate and that of those around us is counting on us to stand firm.

“And those who have insight will shine brightly like the brightness of the expanse of heaven, and those who lead the many to righteousness, like the stars forever and ever.” (Da 12:3 NAS)
