Who I Am

I was born on February 28, 1952 to Joel and Arlene Gunderson, the second son in a family of five, four boys and one girl.  My father, Rev. Joel Gunderson, was a minister of the gospel.  In this setting of a poor preacher’s family, I learned early in life the blessings that come from a God who supplies all of our needs.  I witnessed the strength and courage that can only come from God manifest itself in my father, who from birth was handicapped with a defective heart.  I witnessed how God enabled my father to bless many people with the teaching of the Word of God, impacting their lives for many years even after his death.

I am a recipient of the blessings that result from the prayers of godly parents.  Although I am void of any distinguishing abilities, yet I have experienced the blessing of God in all of my endeavors.  Through my educational years, two years in the army, many years in the logging industry, and many years as a oil refinery operator, God has had his hand on me, and I have been blessed.

In 1980 in answer to my prayers for a godly wife, I was united in holy matrimony to Rachel Fifield.  For 29 years until her passing in 2009 she was my wife, friend, confident, and mother of my children.  I attribute the godly direction that my four children have taken largely due to her diligence, love, and devotion.  Through her I was most richly blessed.

I have retired from the oil refinery business.  But my love of the truth and my concern for people compels me to use every opportunity to share the Word of God with whoever will listen.  God’s Word is the source of life and peace.  Every good and perfect gift has come from my father above.  I have watched as my nation continues to drift away from God, denying  the foundation and source of its manifold blessings.  I watch as the symptoms of a sick nation are manifest as divisions, lawlessness, debauchery, hatred, and envy.  This nation is experiencing the consequences of sin, but in denial of the judgment that will follow.  It need not end this way, for God is merciful and is willing to forgive if we will but repent.

I choose to stand by those who in this time of trouble raise up the Word of God as the answer to all of our problems.  This web site is being developed for this purpose, to call people back to the Word of God.  First to God’s people who need to strengthen the things that remain and rededicate themselves to live a sanctified life, to truly be a light in a dark world.  And secondly to those who have never known the goodness and blessing of God that comes through Christ Jesus our Lord.  That people may come to a saving knowledge of Jesus the Christ, and experience the joy and peace that come from knowing God.
